No, not grade like what I do when my students turn in patterns! Grading a pattern is the process of sizing it up (or down). It sounds fairly intimidating, especially if you’ve ever seen any of the mysterious old-school tools for “assisting” in the process. (They’re a strange array of bars and levers, and I have absolutely no mortal clue what they’re meant to do or how they’re meant to do it.) Lizzle is a 16″ cloth doll with legs. She’s been designed to do two things: be corseted, and go together quickly. She exists to show off the historical dolly-patterns I’ve been working on – including how they change the size and shape of the torso!

Vicksie is a 16″ cloth doll who has been designed to work with the dolly historical patterns I’ve been working on. Since she doesn’t have legs, she’s pretty easy to sew up. Also, if you fill her with sand, she makes a dandy door-stop!
